Associate Director of Annual Giving Operations (2024)

Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) is seeking an

experienced fundraising professional, with strong project management skills, to

manage activities related to FBMS’ annual fund, with the goal to raise approximately $2M annually. This position is part of

the Development Leadership team, working in collaboration with the Chief

Development Officer, Senior Director of Development, and Director of Marketing

& Communications. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development (DoD),

the Associate Director of Annual Giving Operations ensures the smooth

day-to-day operations of the development office. The position will oversee

staff, activities, software/systems, and budgets connected with soliciting,

retaining, and growing donor support, while collaborating on corporate and

foundation opportunities and volunteer projects as needed.

Development Operations & Annual Fund Management

Oversee Direct Mail program: serve as main point of contact for direct

mail vendor and coordinate all

internal logistics including story sourcing and data needs.

Manage electronic solicitation process: coordinate solicitation and

stewardship calendar, create email copy for current and new donor solicitation

and stewardship, and collaborate with communications team on integrating

fundraising opportunities into social media

channels.

Engage and grow Recurring Gift Club donors, as well as creating

additional opportunities to engage with mid-size and long-term donors.

Analyze the effectiveness of various fundraising methods and messages

(i.e. email solicitation, direct mail,

social media, etc); adapt future appeals accordingly.

Analyze donor data to identify trends and assist in developing

strategies to increase giving; focus on effective

engagement activities with donor segments identified as having potential for

the greatest growth.

· Oversee donor acknowledgment

and stewardship process.

·

Update, create, and implement policies and procedures to ensure data

integrity – perform regular audits and updates.

·

Review current database related business processes and interfaces with

Development and Finance departments to streamline current procedures, identify

improvements, and ensure accuracy.

·

Evaluate fundraising tools, software, and systems; as needed, RFPs for

vendors and outside consultants to

support annual fund plan execution and manage contracts appropriately.

· Provide weekly and monthly

fundraising activity reports to the Development team.

·

Assist in identifying donors for further engagement and connecting with

the appropriate Development team

member.

·

Oversee execution of Development related events, including small donor

gatherings, supporter receptions, Ribbon Cuttings, Groundbreakings, etc.

·

Collaborate with CDO and DoD to establish revenue goals for fiscal

year; develop and manage expense

budget for development activities and assist in leading bi-weekly team meetings.

· Participate in volunteer,

cultivation and fundraising events, evenings and weekends as needed.

Staff

Management

· Supervise 2-3 staff members,

providing support and leadership to the following roles:

o

Development Operations Manager (full

time)

o

Development Assistant (full time)

o

Development Intern (seasonal/as needed)

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

·

Minimum 5 years of progressive development experience, with at least 2

years of management experience. Preference given to candidates with experience

in fundraising for human services.

· Excellent computer skills

required with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, preference given to candidates with knowledge/experience of

Raiser’s Edge/NXT or similar program.

· Strong project management

skills with ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines. Familiarity with project management software like Teamwork or similar

program is helpful.

· Flexible work style and

ability to pivot from one project to another when needed.

· Experience developing and

monitoring revenue projections and expense budgets.

· Evidence of mature judgment

and ability to develop entrepreneurial and strategic plans to motivate

prospects and donors.

·

Demonstrated ability to work within an organization

emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, respect, and

excellence.

· Ability to build and nurture

effective working relationships, motivate, set, and attain individual and team goals.

· Excellent oral and written

communication skills
