Is DeviantArt ok for a 13 year old? ›

Even those who claim to be on your side or care on that site are likely just trying to manipulate you and exploit your trust, only to feed information to the VERY SAME criminals behind your back. NO ONE on DeviantArt can be trusted! DeviantArt is certainly not for children. It is not for teenagers.

Submit your artwork to groups.

A lot of people join and contribute to groups on deviantART, and there's a chance a lot of people will notice what you've submitted if your art is accepted into a group. Choose a set of groups that are themed to your particular piece you are going to submit.

Click or tap your profile image.

If you have not selected a profile image for your account, select the image that resembles a person. Click or tap the circle next to "Display Mature Content." It's near the bottom of the menu. This adds a checkmark to the circle, which allows you to view mature content on DeviantArt.

Federal law strictly prohibits the distribution of obscene matter to minors. Any transfer or attempt to transfer such material to a minor under the age of 16, including over the Internet, is punishable under federal law.

Watch is the page you'll visit when you want to view deviations (individual and group), posts, and more from the community members that you've added to your Watch list. On DeviantArt, to "Watch" someone is to follow their work.

Sta.sh is DeviantArt's file storage platform, a place where you can upload, save, and privately share artwork, works-in-progress, and more. Each item in your Sta.sh has its own URL, so you can share that URL with someone if you want to privately show them a file before submitting it to your Gallery for anyone to see.

To deactivate your account:

In the left column of the Account Settings page, click Deactivation. On the Deactivation page, click “Yes, deactivate my account” and you'll be prompted to input your password, which will then send a verification email.

Check to make sure cookies are enabled and that the date and time on your computer are both correct, then try logging in directly from the Log In page. If this does not fix the issue, make sure any firewall or antivirus program you use is not set too strictly. In extreme cases, your IP address may be blocked.

You'll be charged immediately when you first subscribe to a tier, and your subscription will renew every month starting 30 days after your purchase. The Stats and Insights tab on your profile provides helpful information about who is viewing your work, and it's only visible to you. You can access it at any time by clicking Stats in the top bar of your profile.

There is also a lot of artwork with mature themes including violence, horror, drugs, and alcohol and more. The messaging and commenting features create risks of bullying, sexting, and meeting strangers. Because of these risks, no minor should use this app without a parent knowing.

Currently DeviantArt's compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (effective April 21st, 2000) is limited to prohibiting any child under the age of 13 from opening, maintaining, or otherwise using a DeviantArt account. This restriction stands even when parental permission is granted.

It can also only be accessed by deviants 18+ who opt-in to Subscriptions and Premium Galleries that include the new mature content. If you are still seeing content you don't like, try muted tags as well!
